A Brief History of Clare Rose,Inc. Clare Rose Inc. began as a small soda water distributing firm on November 30, 1936. It was established by Clare F Rose and located at 107 West Main Street, Patchogue, New York. Known at the time as C. Rose Distributing, the brands that were sold were "Mission" and "Plaza" beverages. By 1944, C. Rose Distributing was the largest independent soda water distributor in Suffolk County. In 1947, C. Rose Distributing was appointed as the "Anheuser-Busch" wholesale distributor for eastern Suffolk County. This appointment required the company move to its larger and present location at 72 West Avenue, Patchogue, New York. (In December, 1991, West Avenue was renamed "Clare Rose Boulevard"). By 1964, Clare Rose Inc. became the "Anheuser-Busch" distributor for the entire county of Suffolk. Clare Rose Inc. has grown from handling the "Budweiser" brand in 1947 to distributing a large portfolio of products that is second to none on Long Island. In June of 1991, an opportunity arose for Clare Rose to expand west to Nassau County. On August 5, 1991, Clare Rose of Nassau became the Official Anheuser-Busch wholesaler of Nassau County. Finally, on April 1, 2001, the Patchogue and Melville locations merged to form one of the largest Anheuser-Busch wholesalers in the country. To accomplish this feat, Clare Rose Inc. now employs more than 260 employees. |
