Gold Coast Eagle Distributing announces the acquisition of Birra Castello, the first Italian beer to be added into the company’s rapidly expanding portfolio of quality imported beers from around the world.
Established in 1868 by the Padavena family of beer meisters, Castello beer is rich in both tradition and history. Produced in the Udine region of Italy, very near to Venice, Castello brands have achieved widespread popularity within Italy and throughout Europe. This is due to its smooth European taste, resulting from exacting standards within the brewing methodology involved in producing Castello. Castello beer is also pasteurized naturally, through a unique process that originated over 140 years ago, and continues today. Consumers are encouraged to visit the historic brewery on their trips to the Venice area, see www.birracastello.it for details.
Castello beer, brewed and bottled in Italy, has only been available for export into the United States since 2009. Las Vegas Beverage Company holds the exclusive importing rights to this quality, hand crafted beverage. Gold Coast Eagle Distributing is the first distributor within the State of Florida to distribute Castello. Birra Castello will be made available to the remainder of the State of Florida in 2010.
“The acquisition of Castello beer fills a very important void in our import portfolio,” said President / Owner John Saputo. “We carry a full line of imported beer from all over the world, however, until now, we did not have an authentic, handcrafted Italian beer to offer our consumers.”
Gold Coast Eagle Distributing will introduce Castello by targeting the fifty three Italian restaurants located within Sarasota and Manatee counties, followed by local liquor stores and major grocery stores. The first beer in the Castello line to be made available to consumers will be Castello Premium Lager. The other beers produced by Castello, “Doppio Malto,” meaning Double Malt Amber, and “Rosa,” Double Malt Red, will follow shortly thereafter.
