Located in the Howard Industrial Complex in Cranston, RI,
McLaughlin & Moran, Inc. prides itself in marketing the world's
finest beer products to over 1800 retail outlets throughout the state of
Rhode Island. The company takes great pride in providing world-class
service to assure that the uncompromised quality of its Anheuser-Busch
beers is enjoyed by consumers statewide.
Founded in 1936 by first cousins John J. McLaughlin and John E. Moran,
the company has grown and evolved into what it is today. In 1945
Anheuser-Busch selected us to become its distributor for R.I. as part of
the brewer's national expansion plan.
As Anheuser-Busch grew so did we. The company moved its warehousing
facility from its home town of Cumberland to Providence in 1967.
Despite three major expansions the Providence location was no longer
large enough to accomodate the demand for Anheuser-Busch beers. To
solve this dilemma our current state of the art warehouse and office
facility in Cranston was built and opened in 1989.
While the company was growing another major change took place in
September 1979 when the Moran family purchased the McLaughlin interest
in the operation. With two generations of Morans at the helm our sales
volume grew at even greater pace. Within four years we became the
state's largest beer wholesaler and Anheuser-Busch became the state's #1
brewer and have never looked back.
On September 13, 1997, John E. Moran died quietly in his sleep. Some 11
weeks later his cousin and business partner of some 43 years, John J.
McLaughlin, passed away. Their legacy, the company which bears their
names, continues to operate and prosper in a very competitive
environment. Paul and Terry Moran are hands on second generation
owner/operators of McLaughlin & Moran taking great pride in the
products and services that the company provides.
