Add your Logo to your Site

Be sure you have logged in to your web site and have your red buttons showing. (See the Log In page if you need help.)

Before you begin to add your logo to your site, be sure you have uploaded your logo or Logo Banner. See "Make a Logo Banner" and "Upload Images to Your Site" for help in creating and uploading your logo.

Click on the red "Site Options" button.

Type in the name of the logo or Logo Banner you uploaded in the box here circled in red. Be sure to type the whole name of the logo, including the extension, for example, mylogobanner.gif

Choose the alignment you'd like by clicking on the radio button next to left, center or right.

Click on Update.

That's it! Now your logo will appear on every page of your site.

If for some reason you are not happy with the way it looks when you get it on your page, you can delete it by deleting the name from the box where you typed the name in.

Some of the problems people have encountered are:

• The logo is distorted.
  If your logo is stretched or compressed, it is because it is the wrong size. In order for your logo to appear correctly, it must be 400 pixels wide by 100 pixels high.
• The logo is too big, and takes up too much of the page so that visitors have to scroll down to get to content.
  The solution is to redo the logo. If you need assistance, call the toll-free HotLine at 1-877-4AB-INFO (1-877-422-4636).
• The logo doesn't display at all.
  The image could be corrupted, or not the right filetype for the web. See "Prepare Images for the Web" and the related image Tip Sheets for more help.
• The pages start to display very slowly after the logo is added.
  It could be that the file size is too big. A logo which is about the recommended size (400x100 pixels) should have a file size of 15-20K (KiloBytes). If you put a .bmp or .tif file on your site, or if the image size is simply too large, it could easily run to 90-100K or more. The entire page including the Personality Quad images and any images which appear in the content, plus the page itself, should be smaller than 60K. To check the file size, right-click your mouse on the image and then click on Properties at the bottom of the list.
