Saving Corel Draw Images for the Web (Logos and Drawings)

Tip: Do not save images directly from Corel Draw to .gif or .jpg. You may have problems with jagged edges and large file size. Instead, save the image as a Corel PhotoPaint (cpt) file, open it in PhotoPaint, and export it from PhotoPaint as a gif.

1. Open CDR file in Corel Draw

2. To Resize the image in Corel Draw
Using the Select tool, Select the Image
TIP: Be sure you are viewing the image at 100%
Drag the corner handles until the the image looks to be the right size

3. Export from Corel Draw as CPT Corel PhotoPaint Image
Be sure that "anti-aliasing" and "Use color profile" are checked.
Size: 1 to 1
Resolution: 72 dpi
At this point, the actual pixel size of the image will be displayed.

For a discussion of inches vs. pixels, see "What is a Pixel."

4. Open in PhotoPaint and save for the Web
(Menu) File>Open the CPT file you just made in PhotoPaint
(Menu) File>Export>Export as .gif file
