Add Retail Events Pages

Adding a Retail Events page lets you put a poster on your site just like the signs you make for your retail accounts. You can add one event or many events. The poster grows to fit them all.

Here's how:

Be sure you have logged in to your web site and have your red buttons showing. (See the Log In page if you need help.)

Step One: Add the Page

Click on the red "Add a Page" button.

A new page type "Add a Retail Events Page" shows up in about the fifth line down.

Type in a page name without spaces or punctuation. It can be something obscure or vague, like "eventspage01" because no one but the computer will see it, but it must be a unique name. If you make more than one Retail Events page, give each one a different name.

Click on the green "Add" button to the right of the box you typed into.

You will get the Retail Events Edit Page, which allows you to change the category, page order, link text and page title. See Edit Page Help for more information on these changes.

When you are done, click the Publish button.

Step Two: Add Events to the Page

When you first look at your Retail Events page, it will have no events on it.

Here you see a page that has had one Retail Event added.

Click on "Add an Event" to add another one.

Change the Start and Stop Dates on the page to control when an event appears and disappears on your web site. This is so you won't have to worry about taking off old content after an event is over, keeping your web site from looking "dusty" with too much old information on it.

Add the Dates and Time of the Event, the Location and a Description. If you know HTML, you can use the "Allowed HTML" tags to control how the text looks.

Add a link to a Gallery Row. If you have taken some pictures which relate to the event and you would like to direct people to those particular pictures in your photo gallery, make sure that you mark the row of photos with a name you can remember, (see Add a Photo Gallery for more information) and then add that same name here in the box at the bottom of the page.

When you are finished, click on the "Publish" button.

Voila! You have an attractive poster on your web site.
