Upload Images to your Site

Be sure you have logged in to your web site and have your red buttons showing. (See the Log In page if you need help.)

Click on the red button "Upload Images."

The Upload Images Admin Page will open. The images in your image directory will be displayed.

Click on Browse to open a window to your own computer or network.

Choose File window on your computer, find the image on your computer or network that you want to upload, and select it by clicking on it with the mouse. The name of the image will appear in the "File name" box.

Click on "Open" to get the image ready to be uploaded on the Upload Images Admin Page.

The image name will appear next to the "Browse" button on your Upload Images Admin Page.

Click on "Upload" to start the uploading process. When it is finished, the Image Upload Admin Page will blink a bit as it refreshes, and you will see the name of your newly uploaded image.

Be sure to remember or write down the exact name of the image, including the extension. You will need it when you add the image to your page.

If you have more than one image to upload, just click on "Browse" again, select another image, and upload it.

If you want to see an image you have uploaded to make sure it is okay, click on the name of the image and it will display.

If you want to see all of your images at once , check the box near the top of the page "Show Images," here circled in red. If you have a lot of images, or if some of them are extremely large, it may take a long time to open them all.

Add the Uploaded Images to a Page

Once your pictures are uploaded, you can then add them to your pages.

Go to the page where you want to add the image, and click on the red "Edit this Page" button.

Above the box where you can enter image names, here circled in red, the prompt says:

"Enter the name of the image. (No spaces please, or punctuation other than the dot before the extension, as in .gif, .jpg.) Upload the image itself separately, using the red Upload Image button."

Type in the name of the image you want displayed on the page in the box, here circled in red.

If you have not followed the naming conventions, you may experience difficulties. The program will insert an underscore ( _ ) in the place of a space in order to minimize those difficulties, but if there are punctuation marks, particularly apostrophes or commas or periods or quote marks, your images may not display.

If you have problems with your images, go through the following check list:

  • Is the image either a jpg or gif? (Yes is good.)
  • Are there spaces or punctuation in the image name? (Take them out of the image before you upload it, except for the extension .jpg or .gif. Notice to MAC users: you must include the extension, and you cannot add anything else after it.)
  • Is it too big? (see Resize Images in PhotoPaint)

If everything checks out, and you still have problems at this point, call the HotLine at 877-4AB-INFO (877-422-4636). They love to help you.
