Stern Beverage, Inc. was founded in 1986 by Michael Stern, Sr. From 1986-2001, Stern Beverage was located at 1005 W. 11th St. in Milan, IL. In early 2002, construction of Stern Beverage's new facility was completed at 961 Tech Drive just off of the Milan Beltway. The building is about three times the size of the original and is approximately 60,000 square feet. Until August of 2004, Stern Beverage's territory included two and a half counties - all of Rock Island and Mercer county and part of Henry County. On August 1st, 2004, Stern Beverage, Inc. extended its territory to the Wisconsin border, adding cities such as Galena, East Dubuque, Apple River, Elizabeth, Fulton, Scales Mound, Thompson, and Savannah to its territory. Stern Beverage also boasts a wonderful gift shop that offers the most complete collection of memorabilia of Budweiser, Bud Light, and all other Anheuser-Busch products that is available in the Quad Cities. Stern Beverage, together with 12 Anheuser-Busch breweries and a vast network of shippers, provide the most extensive and effective beer distribution system in the brewing industry. Our refrigerated warehouse and computer-based inventory system make sure our retailers and customers get the freshest, highest-quality beer available anywhere. Temperature in the Contolled Environment Warehouse (CEW) is maintained to be between 38 and 65 degrees Farenheit, depending on the month of the year. This is done because research shows that storage temperatures must be adjusted according to the outside temperature and dew point to retain that "Brewery Fresh Taste" that can only be found in Anheuser-Busch products.
